Environmental Burial is an independent directory of UK woodland, natural, and eco-friendly burial grounds. We do not sell funeral services, and we do not require you to create an account to browse the directory. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
We collect minimal information. When you browse the site, our hosting provider may log standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for the purposes of site security and performance monitoring. We do not use this data to identify individuals.
If you contact us through our contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not subscribe you to any mailing list, and we do not share your message with third parties.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use analytics tools that profile visitors across other websites. Any cookies set by our hosting infrastructure are strictly necessary for the site to function and are not used for marketing.
Third-party content
Some pages embed images hosted on third-party services. These services may set their own cookies when images load in your browser. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of those services if you have concerns.
Children and bereavement
This site is not directed at children. Because our content relates to bereavement, we are especially mindful that visitors may be in a vulnerable moment. We do not use urgency tactics, pop-ups, or persuasive design patterns that exploit emotional states.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to request correction or deletion, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). To exercise any of these rights, email hello@environmentalburial.co.uk.
